I have spent the past week (actually it's been going on for months) helping two of my dearest friends plan the wedding of one of their daughters. It's actually a funny story--the same daughter was feeling the stress of being the teenager as mom planned a wedding for an older brother. She was the brunt of some of mom's stress and vowed she NEVER wanted to get married! Of course that all changed when she met "Prince Charming"--or Bryan as we like to call him.
After hours of work, planning, lifting, cleaning, decorating, etc, etc it all came to fruition tonight. Seeing the bride in her beautiful gown smiling contentedly, dancing with her dad, and enjoying the company of good friends made it all worth it. Every minute of it.
There is something about being a part of that moment, helping to create that perfect magical evening, the day that little girls dream about all their lives...that is the definition of satisfaction.
So I go to bed tonight a very contented friend. A tired one, but very contented.
