Breathing is optional, right?

Sleeping too, maybe? Because it seems like it's been a few weeks since I've been able to do either.

I have a love/hate relationship with Spring in Texas. It is so beautiful and I want to be out enjoying the weather and the wildflowers, but it's also allergy season. This year has been one of the worst ever and I am feeling it. I can't even go from the house to the grocery store and back without getting all Itchy, Sneezy, and Stuffy. I feel like three of the seven dwarfs all rolled into one. Oh, make that four, because then I get Grumpy! Could someone let Doc know I could use a house call.

Truly what it's all about

Several weeks ago I was feeling lonely for my big college kids and really wanted to see them. My wonderful husband decided to send me to Utah for a visit. What a great man to agree to hold down the fort at home and selflessly let me go have some one on one time with my big kids.

I was so fortunate to spend this past week with not only Derek and Heidi but to also see my parents and all of my siblings. I got to see where Derek is living, help him get settled in, spend a day solo with each of them, and enjoy some unusually perfect February weather.

I thoroughly soaked in the joy of being with my family and just truly enjoying every minute of it. I feel so blessed. I am so pleased with the people my kids are turning into. What fun to have time to sit and listen to them, to share ideas, dreams and hopes. To laugh and love. What a wonderful thing to see them turning into adults and find that I really, really like being with them.

I am also so blessed to have the best parents ever. I love them both so much and am so thankful for the time I had with them.

I think the best gift my sweetie could have given me was this time with my Utah family. Thanks honey!
